CustomerDashboard Help Center
Everything you need to create, customize, and share dashboards with your customers or team.
CustomerDashboard is a hosted client reporting dashboard for businesses that need to show customers their own data. Connect a database, data warehouse, spreadsheet, or API; build one dashboard; and give each customer a secure login and a private view of their results.
It is a practical alternative to developing your own SaaS dashboard, analytics panel, or client portal. Instead of building authentication, dashboard components, customer management, and reporting infrastructure from scratch, you can use CustomerDashboard as the ready-made interface for data you already collect.

Who is CustomerDashboard for?
CustomerDashboard is designed for companies that provide a service to multiple customers and need to report metrics, performance, usage, or revenue back to them.
For example, it can be used by:
- Affiliate networks that need to show each affiliate their clicks, conversions, commissions, and revenue.
- Publisher monetization and ad-tech services that need to report impressions, fill rate, earnings, and payouts to each publisher.
- Advertising networks and media sales businesses that need separate reporting views for advertisers, agencies, or publishing partners.
- Agencies and consultancies that want to give every client a branded performance dashboard.
- Marketplaces, reseller programs, and partner networks that need an account-level reporting portal.
- Managed service providers and data-driven service businesses that have the data but do not have a customer-facing application.
- New SaaS and service businesses that need a client dashboard now and do not want to spend time implementing their own reporting panel.
If your business stores a customer or account ID with each row of data, CustomerDashboard can use that ID to show every customer the correct results through the same dashboard layout.
Choose a dashboard mode
CustomerDashboard supports two dashboard modes:
- Multi-customer dashboards give each customer a secure login and show only the data associated with that customer. Build one layout and reuse it across many customer accounts. This mode is best for affiliate dashboards, publisher revenue dashboards, partner portals, agency reporting, and other multi-tenant client reporting.
- Internal dashboards show the same data to every viewer. Despite the name, this mode can also be used to report to a single customer when per-customer logins and row-level separation are unnecessary. It is also suitable for team metrics, investor updates, office TVs, operational reports, and public or password-protected dashboards.

How multi-customer dashboards work
You create one dashboard layout for all your customers. When a customer signs in, CustomerDashboard uses their customer ID to filter each query and display only that customer’s data.
- Connect a data source, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, Google Sheets, or a REST API.
- Create a dashboard and add tables, charts, number cards, or other widgets.
- Write a query and use
:customer_idto filter customer-specific data. - Add customers and user logins.
- Preview the dashboard, then publish and share it.
Each signed-in user is automatically linked to the correct customer ID. Customers do not enter or choose this value themselves.

When to use CustomerDashboard instead of building a custom panel
Consider CustomerDashboard when you are launching a service and customer reporting is necessary, but the reporting interface is not the core product you want to build. It is especially useful when:
- Your service already produces data in a database, warehouse, spreadsheet, or API.
- Customers need a dashboard or panel where they can sign in and view revenue, performance, usage, or operational results.
- Many customers need the same reports, with each account restricted to its own data.
- You want to launch quickly without implementing authentication, charting, dashboard layouts, customer accounts, and access control yourself.
- A spreadsheet, emailed report, or public dashboard link is no longer secure or manageable enough.
- A full enterprise BI or embedded analytics platform would add more complexity than the service needs.
In these situations, CustomerDashboard can provide the customer-facing reporting layer while your application, data pipeline, or service remains the source of truth.
